Pasažieru vilciens is the only passenger-carrying railway company in Latvia, operating both electric and diesel trains on various lines throughout the country. It was formed in November 2001 by bringing together two separate companies under one name, creating the first subsidiary of Latvian Railways. • AS Pasažieru vilciens has signed a contract with VSIA Autotransporta direkcija to provide regional rail transport services in Latvia under the brand 'Vivi' until December 31, 2032, with an option to extend until December 31, 2034.
• AS Pasažieru vilciens will start serving passengers at new railway stops 'Dauderi', 'Šmerlis', and 'Medemciems' from December 15.
